TRICKZ: How to Get Matrix-Style Special FX on a Go Pro Camera Budget

I love it when people think outside of the box to come up with simple low-budget solutions to complex filmmaking problems.  For example, say you want to shoot some cool surreal slo-mo footage like the infamous Matrix bullet-time effect.

The Complex Problem:
You ain’t got no no Matrix special FX software, no Matrix cameras and you damn sure ain’t got no Matrix money.

The Simple Solution:
Check out the below cool little trick from YouTube mad genius Mark Roper to do some Matrix-style bullet-time slo-mo effects on a micro-scale in your living room using little more than a GoPro Hero Cam, ceiling fan and some small lights.

I can easily see this technique coming in handy for product shots, music videos, experimental films and pretty much any other shot that has a story-driven reason to be in super slo-mo Matrix-style.   Creativity over tools…
