BIG UP: Terance Nance’s “An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty” Makes Sundance – New Frontiers

Big up this week to Terance Nance, another former student who once worked with me at the Production Center at NYU.  His genre-bending film, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty was just selected for the out of competition New Frontiers Sundance screenings that are described as consisting of:

“work that pushes the boundaries of storytelling and the moving image, New Frontier celebrates the convergence of film, art, and new media technologies as a hotbed for cinematic innovation”

From Terance’s previous work that I’ve seen,  I’d say that is an apt description of his style- He’s truly as much a fine artist and performer as a filmmaker and this newest film combines all 3 as he wrote, stars in and directs. Big up, boyee!
