Matt Stone and Trey Parker Talk Storytelling Strategies at NYU

A few week’s back, I mentioned that South Park and Book of Mormon creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker stopped by my workplace at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, to speak to a group of Freshmen students in our Storytelling Strategies class. (To be clear they stopped by the building and not by my desk personally. Although had they have come by my desk, I would’ve pitched them the most awesome South Park episode ever and surely been offered a senior staff writing position on the spot.)

I’ve mentioned Matt and Trey on this blog several times through the years, because I really do appreciate their ability to consistently tell great original stories in record-breaking time frames that also happen to make me laugh my ass off and have provocative (dare I even say, occasionally  deep) social and political points beneath the raunchy humor.  Here’s the full MTV U episode of Stand-In featuring Matt Parker and Trey Stone’s succinct advice for storytellers of all stripes. (That’s US.)
